# What are Affiliates?

**Affiliates** are individuals who promote a stake pool or Cardano business services or products and earn a commission or reward for generating delegations, sales, leads, or traffic. Affiliates use various marketing methods such as blogs, social media, email marketing, or paid advertising. In return for their efforts, they receive a percentage of the revenue or a fixed fee for each conversion (delegation, sale, sign-up, or other action) made through their unique referral links or codes.
